With a national real estate market reaching toward recovery, some might be reluctant to call a luxury townhome a good investment –much less a ‘diamond in the rough’.
Not John Kasonic.
Kasonic and his wife Gloria bought their 2700 sq. ft. townhome at Washington Square Condominiums earlier this year, not just as a means of downsizing from a traditional ground-level house, but as an investment in a growing neighborhood.
“The townhomes have extraordinary potential- the whole project does,” Kasonic said. “The benefits of living here are not replicated elsewhere.”
What sets the townhouses at Washington Square apart?
“If you want the best of both worlds,” said Mike Nielson, Chief Operating Officer at Washington Square – where sales are record-high and the construction loan is expected to be paid off by end of the year -, “our townhomes offer the simplicity of condominium living with all the luxuries of a suburban home.”
Nielson’s townhome residents do not just get the same level of luxury as his condo owners- they also receive the same access to warrantees, amenities, and services.
“We have the space of a home, but the convenience and value of an urban condo,” said John Kasonic, who owns a 2700 sq. ft. townhome with his wife, Gloria. “And the service is outstanding. From the concierges, who give you your keys and send off your mail, to the developer who built the place, everyone responds to your notes, needs, and questions courteously.”
Priced from just over $1 million, each of the townhomes feature an expansive patio, a private elevator to personal 2-car garage, finished master walk-in closet with vanity, fiber-optic lines to the residence, central air and heating, and high quality Viking appliances. Some of the townhomes offer large private gardens, while others feature breakfast nooks or media rooms.
With only 20 of these multi-level townhouse residences remaining, Washington Square Condominiums expects to gain even further sales momentum this winter on the already formidable home sale increase they’ve achieved this fall.
Nielson is intent on getting the word out about the unique opportunity Washington Square’s townhomes present. To demonstrate the versatility of their townhomes, Washington Square has recently opened four fully-furnished model townhomes, designed in traditional, modern, and transitional themes.
Townhome owners have full access to the condominium’s 24/7 concierge service, state-of-the-art fitness center, spa, private massage rooms, and resident loft with billiards, movie viewing area and full chef’s kitchen. The concierges are equipped to make recommendations, appointments, and reservations for any number of domestic, personal, or entertainment services for residents.
And for someone living in the heart of downtown Bellevue, access to the city’s urban offerings might just be considered essential.
“Right here in the heart of downtown, there is so much going on,” Kasonic said regarding Washington Square’s location. “We’ve got the new arts building (Performing Arts Center Eastside) opening soon, we’re just a couple blocks away from mega-shopping and entertainment centers like Bellevue Square and Lincoln Square, and several good restaurants.”
Voted the #1 place to live by CNN Money in its “Best Places to Live and Launch”, downtown Bellevue is now acknowledged as a growing metropolis for luxury retail stores like Neiman Marcus and Anthropologie and restaurants like John Howie Steak House and Palomino. An emerging location for corporate growth, downtown Bellevue’s economy is increasingly supported by expanding companies like Microsoft.
And according to Nielson, these trends will continue.
“We’re long-term believers in the growth of downtown Bellevue,” said Nielson. “Entrepreneurs getting a head start here, strong public schools, excellent restaurants and entertainment, and a strong employment center will allow Bellevue to lead the economic recovery for the Northwest.”
Ten years from today, will the buyers of Washington Square’s townhomes wonder if they made the right choice?
According to Nielson, the answer is yes.
“Washington Square, and downtown Bellevue for that matter, are only moving in one direction,” he said. “And that is forward.”
